GD&T drawing

GD&T drawings are basically drawings which incorporate GD&T to define a part or assembly. Geometric tolerances are specified using symbols on a drawing. Currently, we have 14 symbols for geometric tolerances, which are categorized according to the tolerance they specify. Applying GD&T to drawings enhances design accuracy by allowing for appropriate tolerances that maximize production. For many projects, the process provides extra or bonus tolerances, further increasing cost effectiveness and GD&T also enables designers, manufacturers, and inspectors to communicate clearly with one other, saving time and making the process more efficient.
ACE-CAD engineers are experts when it comes to applying GD&T to all type of components.

Sheet Metal Drawing

Sheet metal drafting is merely the application of the principles of ordinary mechanical drawing to objects which, for the purposes of drawing, lack thickness. This means that the materials dealt with are usually in the form of thin sheets. The ordinary rules and conventions in use in mechanical drawing apply in general to sheet metal drafting. ACE-CAD engineers can work on any type of sheet metal parts and can provide a quick turnaround on delivery.

Casting drawing

Casting drawings are relatively more complex than machining drawing. Casting drawings require proper definition of Datum targets to create datums, we need to consider additional tolerance for casted parts as they cannot be controlled to very tight tolerance, consideration needs to be given on the surface finish of casted parts where no machining operation will be performed, we need to provide additional material for machining allowance. Generally Casted parts will have 2 drawings, one for showing the result of casted part and another for showing machining operations performed after casting. Our Engineers are highly skilled in working on Casted parts, they can produce a high quality drawing with proper datums, Machining allowance and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances.

Machining drawing

A machining detail drawing provides all the information needed to manufacture a specific part and is used to machine the casting into a finished component. Once complete, this machined part should match and fit other machined parts as defined in an assembly/detail drawing. Machining anything like holes, slots, keyways, taper, Threads, Gear profiles, stepped shafts etc. requires a detailed machining drawing for manufacturing. Parts must be detailed correctly without any redundant/missing dimension, parts must have correct datum system if required, correct dimensions and tolerances, proper Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances if required, surface finish, welding symbols if necessary. ACE-CAD can help you in producing a high quality drawing to produce a part as per design intent.

Drawings per ISO standards

ISO drawings has its own set of standards when it comes to engineering drawing. It is always a best practice to follow either ISO or ASME drawings since most of the manufacturers around the world use either one of these to manufacture a part. ISO standard has its own way of applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances to a part, own way of datum establishment, has its own drawing template and other drawing conventions. ACE-CAD is specialized in making ISO drawings for its customers. ACE-CAD Engineers can also work on customer specific drawing standards by learning their standards very quickly and produce drawings with best quality.

Drawings conforming to ASME

This Standard establishes the essential requirements and reference documents applicable to the preparation and revision of computer generated engineering drawings and associated lists unless tailored by a specialty Standard. It is essential that this Standard be used in close conjunction with ASME Y14.24, ASME Y14.34, ASME Y14.35M, and ASME Y14. This is one of the most frequently used drawing standards to establish engineering requirements. Similarly like ISO standard, ASME standard has its own way of placing view and dimension, its own requisites for all dimensions, Notes, Datum definition, application and interpretation of Geometric Dimensions and tolerances. ACE-CAD Engineers are highly skilled in ASME standard for drawing definition and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances. We deliver the best in class drawings with highest drawing quality for our customers.

Assembly drawing

Assembly Drawings demonstrate how a number of separate subassembly drawings, detailed parts, standard components and specifications come together in a unified assembly. These components are fabricated separately, and are assembled or installed together at their utility sites such that each part fits and matches with the others. ACE CAD will provide services to create assembly drawing for small and large systems with 100% accurate Part List/BoM.

Mechanical Routing/Tube drawing

Along with creating models for Mechanical routing, we provide services on creating 2D drawing for mechanical routing. Mechanical routing which are mostly rigid parts require a drawing to show the bend profile. Usually these bends vary from simple 2 Dimensional Bend to complex 3 Dimensional bend and it requires a drawing with better quality in order to manufacture it as per design intent. Engineers at ACE-CAD provides you best services pertaining to Drafting of Mechanical routing.

2D to 3D conversion

2D to 3D CAD conversion is the process of converting 2D Technical drawings into 3D CAD Models. 2D drawings are drawn in the x and y-axis where a 3D CAD Model has the additional z-axis, like the difference between a square and a cube. There are many situations where there is a need for conversion like: updating existing drawing to modern 3D format, CAD model for importing into CNC machine, Hand sketch into 3D format etc. Our CAD designers at ACE CAD take your 2D design in any file format and convert it to a usable and exportable 3D model. Our team of expert CAD engineers will help you to produce more accurate and high quality Models and drawings

Sheet metal

These are made up of thin metal sheets which are bent and cut into different shapes as per the design requirement. Sheet metal parts have varied uses in every object ranging from tables, Plumbing etc. to Transformers, wind turbines, airplane wings etc. Sheet metal follows its own standards and rule of thumb which are must in achieving a better design. Engineers at ACE CAD Solutions can work on all types of sheet metal parts and will ensure that the parts are created as per the sheet metal standards.

Parametric Modelling

It is an approach in 3D CAD in which you capture design intent using features and constraints.
Benefits of parametric modelling approach

  1. Automatic updates to the model if changes are made to the design.
  2. The ability to easily capture design intent, which makes it easier to define how the model should behave when something is changed.
  3. Easy definition and automatic creation of families of parts.
  4. Excellent integration with manufacturing processes resulting in a decrease in production time.
Our team has an expertize in creating parametric model for simple parts like bushings, washers, bolts etc. to high complex parts such as blades, gearbox housing, Casted and forged parts etc.

Surface Modelling

Surface Modelling is the method of showing or presenting solid objects. Surface modelling gives you the ability to build out a visual representation of an object’s exterior and its contours. In other words, it’s a surface. Surface modelling finds its application in body panels of Automobiles, Blades & Vanes, Aircraft structure etc. Surface modelling requires more skill compared to solid modelling as we use complex options like Spline, Mesh Curves, etc. ACE CAD Engineers are well experienced in modelling complex shapes of aerodynamic parts like Blades, Vanes, Exterior of automobiles and consumer products.

Castings Model

Casting models are different from Part models in a way that they require additional material allowance for Machining purposes in order to produce finished parts. Casting parts usually require two Models & Drawings, one for Casting and another for machining because casting mostly produces parts with large variation and we require additional machining (machining of mating faces, holes, grooves etc.) to bring the part within its design tolerance limit. Since there will be relationships maintained between these two models, updates in Casting model will automatically trigger updates in machining model and any incorrect input might result in chaos in modelling feature tree and because of this you need a CAD Design engineer with good skills and experience to work on Casting Models. Our Engineers at ACE CAD Solution will provide their expertise in creating and updating Casting parts with all levels of complexity.

Assembly Modelling

Assembly modelling is a technique applied by CAD and product visualization software systems to utilize multiple files that show components within a product. The data files defining the 3D geometry of components are assembled together via a number of sub assembly levels to generate an assembly explaining the complete product.
We at ACE CAD Solutions support on managing assemblies ranging from small Hinge to complex assemblies like Engines, Turbines, Heavy Machineries etc. Our Team has an expertise to support on creating, updating & managing assembly files, perform clash & clearance analysis on interface parts, perform simulation of part assembly and disassembly, do a tolerance stack up to ensure that the part gets assembled when it is manufactured within the tolerance limits.

Part Modelling

Part modelling is the process of creating a virtual prototype of something by modelling each individual part separately. In Part Modelling you can create a part from a conceptual sketch through solid feature-based modelling, as well as build and modify parts through direct and intuitive graphical manipulation. Part Modelling shows you how to draft a 2D conceptual layout, create precise geometry by combining basic and advanced features such as extrusions, sweeps, cuts, holes, slots, and surfaces, and then dimensioning and constraining your geometry. Finally, the Part Modelling Help provides procedures for modifying part features and resolving failures.

Conceptual Design & Development

Conceptual design is an early phase of the design process, in which the broad outlines of function and form of something are articulated. In the early conceptual design phase, cost modification is relatively low and the opportunities for realising a cost effective solution are high, compared to the later phases of the design process where late engineering changes drive high costs. ACE-CAD Engineers are highly experienced in working on conceptual design of all types of parts. Our engineers will help you in realizing your ideas and help in making it a feasible solution. We will help you with designing manufacturable parts, parts with best form fit and function, cost effective product without compromising on quality, we assist you in Transportation, Assembly, Installation and Services of the product, help you with any update to the design based on the customer feedback. In short , ACE CAD engineers will provide their service through a complete product lifecycle.

Synchronous Modelling

Synchronous modelling allows manipulation of solid bodies without a need for a history or feature tree. Solid geometry imported from a Step, IGES, Parasolid, or another CAD system can be manipulated using commands like Move Hole, Delete Feature, Pull Face and Offset Face. Synchronous modelling is very powerful and efficient when used properly. And the combination of synchronous and parametric modelling at conceptual design stage can help in visualizing and giving life to great ideas.

Electrical cable routing

ACE CAD Engineers can help in easily adding wire/cable/harness/conduit systems for your design, including path planning and complete BOMs. Electrical routing may include routing electrical wiring, harnessing, cabling and conduit assemblies. Electrical routing needs a 3D sketch which in some scenarios requires a combination of sketch, routing curves, Splines etc. Since electrical routings are usually flexible, understanding their behaviour and potential issues that might arise can be difficult to understand. Using a 3D CAD software will help you to strategically plan your cable path in a system and predict possible contact with any high temperature system. Seeking support from a professionally skilled CAD engineer will help you to design a robust electrical system and help you in the design and installation phase.

Mechanical Routing

Routing applications provide you with the tools to quickly create systems that carry air, fluids or electricity using lengths of stock and connecting fittings. These tools are commonly divided into sets of tools used for Mechanical systems, tools used for Electrical systems, and functionality that is common to both. Unlike the regular modelling approach, Mechanical routing requires a 3D sketch which in some complex scenarios requires a combination of sketch, routing curves, Splines etc. to create a rigid mechanical routing. ACE CAD provides you the services related to mechanical routing to build all types of complex routing systems.
